A: We handle a wide range of garage projects including full interior conversions, workshop buildouts, home gym and studio spaces, home office conversions, laundry room additions, and general upgrades like insulation, drywall, flooring, lighting, and electrical. Whether you want to maximize the utility of your existing garage or transform it into a fully finished livable space, we assess your goals and structure a plan that fits your home.
A: It depends on the scope of work. Adding insulation, drywall, flooring, and lighting typically does not require a permit. Converting a garage into habitable space (with heating, electrical, and a change of occupancy) does require permits through your city’s building department. Gatica’s Construction handles all permit applications, plan check submissions, and city inspections on your behalf so you never have to navigate the process yourself.
A: A basic garage upgrade (flooring, lighting, drywall, and storage) can typically be completed in 1 to 2 weeks. A full conversion to finished living space with framing, insulation, electrical, HVAC, and finishes usually takes 4 to 8 weeks depending on scope and permit timelines. We provide a project schedule before work begins so you know what to expect at every stage.
A: Yes. This is one of the most popular requests we get. We frame, insulate, drywall, and finish the interior to whatever standard the space requires. Workshops may need upgraded electrical (240V circuits for tools). Home gyms benefit from rubber flooring, extra ventilation, and reinforced walls for equipment mounting. Home offices need proper lighting, outlets, and sometimes data cabling. We design and build to the specific use case.
A: Garage remodel pricing varies significantly depending on the size of the space, the scope of work, the finish level, and whether permits are required. Because every project is different, we do not quote ranges without seeing the space first. A: For garages that will be used as workshops, gyms, or utility spaces, epoxy floor coating is a durable and easy-to-clean option that holds up to vehicle use and heavy equipment. For fully finished spaces (offices, studios, guest rooms), luxury vinyl plank or engineered hardwood provides a clean, residential feel. Rubber flooring tiles are popular for home gyms because they are impact-absorbing and easy to install over concrete. We help you choose based on how the space will be used.
